Hello Fall Friends

It’s finally Friday! What a long week it’s been and I even had two days off this week. On my two days off from school this week, I seriously needed to turn off the news and just create. Although I primarily share Stampin’ Up! projects, I also enjoy other stamp companies’ images as well. Today’s card features a stamp set from a favorite stamp company, Hello Bluebird. And their Fall Friends stamp set is one of my favorites.

I love these sweet images, especially the book toting deer. I think she’s a librarian! I also enjoyed coloring these. I used a combination of Stampin’ Blends and Copic markers.

The buffalo checked paper came from my embarrassing large stash. I’m pretty sure I picked it up at Joann’s.

The inside sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!’s So Sentimental stamp set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I’ve been sending a lot of cards “just because” these days and I have a special stamping friend that I’ll be mailing this one to.

Pretty Forever Fern Trio

Today I’m sharing a few pretty cards featuring the Forever Fern Bundle. I instantly fell in love with this bundle when it was introduced in the Annual Catalog. The creative possibilities with these products are endless. The cards I created today can be used for so many different occasions by adding a sentiment of your choice. Two of my cards are birthday cards and one is a get well card.

The layout for each card is basically the same with a different color scheme. For each card, I created my own version of Designer Series Paper by stamping a floral panel using the images from Forever Fern stamp set. I also stamped a few images and cut them using the Forever Flourishing dies to add to the embossed panel. The gold foil leaves are from the Forever Gold DSP.

Each of the sentiments on the front are heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The inside sentiments are stamped in Old Olive ink.

Gathered Leaves Harvest Blessings

Today I paired the Gathered Leaves Dies with a pattern from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper collection to create a Thanksgiving card.

I cut a stitched rectangle from Whisper White card stock and another from the Plaid Tidings DSP. These are adhered to the Pretty Peacock card base with dimensionals. The leaves are cut from the Gathered Leaves Dies and also adhered with dimensionals. The gold leaf sprays are from Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

The sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set and is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. I fussy cut it and matted in on a piece of Pretty Peacock card stock which was also fussy cut. I added a few retired Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

The inside sentiment is also from the Country Home stamp set.

CASEing Coast to Coast: Classic Christmas Slimline

Welcome to this month’s installment of CASEing Coast to Coast with Karen Hallam from CA and myself here in PA. Karen provided beautiful inspiration this month with this card…

I’m loving the latest slimline trend in card making these days and was thrilled to see Karen’s. So naturally that was the first element I knew I would be CASEing (Copying and Selectively Edit). I also decided to follow her lead and create a Christmas card. Here’s what I came up with…

My card measures 8 1/2 x 3 3/4, so it’s a pretty big one. That just made it more fun to decorate! I used a variety of different products here which I listed at the end of the post. These are my favorite kind of cards to make where I can pull together different elements, use products that I purchase and create a pretty card.

The Designer Series paper is from the Most Wonderful Time Refill Kit. The DSP is part of the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley. I often opt to buy just the refill kits without the stamps and dies. The patterns in the DSP are so pretty and festive. The refill kits also come with many additional embellishments. I used one of the sticker embellishments on the front of the envelope.

However, the DSP pattern measures 6″ x 6″ so I had to do a little retro fitting. Here’s my solution…

I cut the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP into two 2 1/2″ x 6″ pieces and centered and glued them onto the Old Olive card stock. Then I trimmed the sides.

To cover the seam where the two pieces of DSP meet, I added the leafy embellishment from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper. It created the perfect focal point and frame for the sentiment which is from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set and is heat embossed in gold.

The inside sentiment is from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set and is stamped in Garden Green ink.
