Have a Hoot Halloween

Let’s just say that I did have a HOOT making today’s card. Each year I usually purchase just one halloween set. I knew the Have a Hoot bundle was it as soon as I saw it. In addition, this set also has a few adorable Christmas images. Although I didn’t use the coordinating dies on today’s card, I’m working on another project with them.

A pattern from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper is a perfect backdrop for the cute little owl images. These images are so easily colored with alcohol markers. I used Light Soft Suede, Light Smoky Slate and Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

The inside sentiment and spider image is from the Little Treats stamp set.

Harvest Hellos Halloween Card

I created a few Halloween cards for my adult daughters using the Harvest Hellos, Beautiful Autumn and Buffalo Check stamp sets along with the Apple Builder Punch, Autumn Punch Pack and Forever Flourishing Dies. I really enjoyed creating these cards. It was fun to pull together a variety of different sets to come up with a one of a kind card.

The size of this card is also a bit different. I’m calling it a mini slimline. It measures 6″ x 3 1/2″. Given the card size, I created a custom envelope using a piece of cream colored copy paper.

Since I needed a few of these cards, I created different color combinations on the Crumb Cake card base.

The inside sentiment comes from a very vintage Stampin’ Up! set called Spooks Galore. I’ve had this set forever and it was perfect for the size of this card.

Best Plaid Autumn Friendship Card

Happy Friday! I hope you’re looking forward to a relaxing weekend. It’s a three-day weekend for me and I plan on doing some stamping…big surprise!

For today’s card I pulled together several different products to create a pretty Fall medley.

Materials & Measurements

Soft Sea Foam card base: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
So Saffron card stock: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (inside)
Very Vanilla card stock: 5″ x 3 3/4″ (inside)

Details

The background is created using the Best Plaid Builder die with Very Vanilla, Soft Sea Foam and So Saffron card stock.
After adhering the plaid background, I used various dies to create the fall floral arrangement. Everything I used is listed at the end of the post.
The sentiment, from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set, is stamped in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder on Basic Black card stock.

The inside sentiment is also from the Beautiful Autumn stamp set.
I embellished both the inside of the card and the envelope flap with strips of Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron card stock and Plaid Tidings DSP.

I’m really enjoying creating Fall projects and this one was a lot of fun.

Game On Gift Card Holder

Game On has become my go-to for masculine cards. Today’s card is a birthday gift card holder.

Materials & Measurements

Card Base:

Cherry Cobbler card stock: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Plaid Tidings DSP: 5 1/4″ x 4″

Center Panel:

Cherry Cobbler card stock: 9 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ , scored at 3 1/4″ & 6 1/2″
Gray Granite card stock: 4″ x 3″, embossed

Inside Center Panel:

Pocket – Cherry Cobbler card stock: 4″ x 2″, DSP: 3 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
Sentiment Panel – Whisper White card stock: 4″ x 3″, DSP: 4″ x 1/4″

Details

Glue the plaid DSP panel to the Cherry Cobbler panel.
To create the center panel, fold into three sections and glue to the center of the card base.

One the front section, emboss the Gray Granite card stock with the Wrapped in Texture embossing folder and glue to the center.
Stamp the playing card image in Cherry Cobbler ink and hand cut. Add a Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black mat. Glue to the embossed panel.
The sentiment is stamped in black ink and heat embossed in clear embossing powder.

When you open the center panel, the chess pieces are stamped in Gray Granite ink and hand cut. I matted this with Basic Black card stock and glued to one of the inside panels along with 2 strips of DSP.

Open it again to reveal the inside sentiment and gift card pocket.
