Way Back Wednesday: From Pumpkins to Strawberries

For this week’s Way-Back Wednesday, I’m going back to September 2017 with one of my all-time favorite card layout and a favorite stamp set. I’ve kept this card close by for all these years knowing I would one day recreate it either using the long retired stamp set, Basket of Wishes, or the layout. HERE is the original card posting.

I actually de-stashed this set and bought it again. Have you ever done that? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has done this (at least one time…maybe more)!

For the updated version of this card, I used the Storybook Moments DSP for both the background panel and the image panel. While there are a lot of patterns in this collection to love, I absolutely love the strawberry pattern and will probably use it until it is gone! Those strawberries are just so delicate and pretty.

Measurements…

Basic White card base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and 1/8 strip (cut 2)

Cherry Cobbler card stock: 4 x 5 1/4 and 1/4 strip (cut 2)

Storybook Moments DSP (green pattern): 3 3/4 x 5

Storybook Moments DSP (strawberry pattern): 1 3/4 x 3 3/4

Details…

Using a corner rounder punch, round the bottom corners of both the card base and the Cherry Cobbler panel. Glue Cherry Cobbler panel to the card base.

Round the bottom corner of the green DSP panel.

Position and glue the strawberry panel to the green panel, adding the Cherry Cobbler and White strips as shown.

Using ribbon or twine wrapped around the green panel and add a bow. I cheat and create the bow separately and glue down with glue dots.

After the ribbon or twine is adhered, glue this panel to the Cherry Cobbler panel.

Stamp, color and cut the strawberry image from the Storybook Garden Patch bundle and add to the card front.

Add a sentiment. I wanted a small sentiment so I went with one from the (retired) Special Moments stamp set.

Here’s a look inside. I used the (retired) Layering Leaves stamp set for the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed a look back at a previous card and the updated version. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday.

Take care,

Rosanne

Fun Fold Friday: Pinwheel Tower Card

Boy did this week get away from me and it’s already Friday…fun fold Friday to be exact! Again, my card today is my Monday Mystery card. On first look at the directions, I thought this might be a tough one. However, after following Jeanie’s directions HERE, it turned out to be very easy. And, wow, is it a special card.

This is the first panel and considered the card front. The patterns are from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from a Gina K stamp set, So Many Sentiments.

This is the second panel.

…and the third panel, which has the inside sentiment, also from the Gina K set.

…the fourth panel.

As intricate as this looks, it actually folds flat and fits perfectly in an A2 envelope. I forgot to take a photo of the folded card and the card is already in the mail to a friend who just had surgery. I hope this will brighten her day.

I have another idea for a tower card, so I’ll let you know if it pans out. Is this a card that you’ll try? I think you’ll be surprised at how fun and easy it is!

Thanks for checking in today and have a wonderful weekend. There’s not too many summer weekends left!

Take care,

Rosanne

Fun Fold Friday: Double Fold Fun Fold Birthday

Today’s fun fold is another from Jeanie’s Mystery Monday challenge. From the title, I’m sure you can deduce that there’s another hidden fold inside and here it is…

…and it opens up to this…

As always with the Mystery Monday cards, you can get all the measurements and directions from Jeanie’s blog HERE as well as see her wonderful cards.

For my card, I used the Delightful Wishes Bundle along with the Floral Delight and Floral & Gingham Designer Series Paper. The gingham vellum is glued over a white card stock panel to give it more definition. Gluing with vellum is tricky as the glue seems to show through. To avoid that, I glued 1/4″ strips to either side of the sentiment panel gluing a little of the outer edge to the card base. The sentiment, from the retired Layered Leaves stamp set, is stamped on the vellum in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.

Thanks for joining me on another Fun Fold Friday. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. Our hot weather has finally broke and the weekend is supposed to be almost Fall-like!!

Take care,

Rosanne

Tic Tac Toe Thursday: Clean & Simple, Fresh & Pretty Friendship Card #TTTC276

I love a card challenge and always look forward to Tic Tac Toe Thursday. The challenge boards are chock full of inspiration as well as the challenge of incorporating the elements into a card. Today’s board is no exception.

I chose to go with the first column down: Friendship, Any Color, Any Shape Die and also the right diagonal: CAS, Free, Any Shape Die

I relied on an oldie but goodie SU product, the medium daisy punch, to create the flower, which was sponged in Petal Pink ink. The leaves are cut from a die from the Charming Day Dies in Soft Sea Foam card stock. And the sentiment is from the Perfectly Pears stamp set. The embellishments came from my stash.

The measurements for the card front are:

Basic White card base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2

Soft Sea Foam card stock: 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 and 3 7/8 x 1/4 (strip for front)

Basic White card stock: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and 3 7/8 x 1/8 (strip for front)

Another die cut to simply embellish the inside.

Let’s talk a bit about that daisy punch. It had to be one of my most used products of all time. It made creating pretty cards so easy and I absolutely loved creating with it. Here are a few cards I created with it in the past…

Do you have a favorite product from the past that refuses to retire? If so, I’d love to hear what it is.

Thanks for stopping by and please head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to check out my fellow designers’ projects and consider playing along.

Take care,

Rosanne
