Big, Bold Birthday Butterfly…#TTTC211

Today’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge inspired me to pull out Spellbinder’s Butterfly Card Creator dies. I love the idea of a shaped card and this set of dies easily creates a big, beautiful butterfly.

Here’s the Tic Tac Toe Challenge board….

I chose to go diagonally right to left: Butterfly, Die Cut, Embossing

The card base is Fresh Freesia. I colored the flowers with a Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend and the leaves are colored in Soft Sea Foam. The sentiment is heat embossed. I used a retired SU embossing folder: Parisian Flourish.

Fold it Friday: Zany Zoo “Z” Fold Birthday Card

This Zany Zoo Z Fold card was a lot of fun to make. I combined the retired Rain or Shine DSP with the new Zany Zoo Bundle to create this cute card. Here’s the card measurements and how to create the fold:

This card will be my grandson’s, Luke’s card for his 2nd Birthday in June and this is one of his presents…and Luke is just as cute as that little bunny!

Clean & Serene Sympathy Card for #TTTC210

As I was in the process of replenishing my sympathy card supply, I actually needed to send three out this week. This is one of them. And I was able to make it work with the Tic Tac Toe challenge. Here’s the fun board that Vicky of Team X came up with.

I chose to go with the 2nd row across: Tools, CAS, Metallic Element

Measure & Cut

Basic White Thick card base: cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
Silver Foil: cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White card stock: 4″ x 1 1/4″
Abigail Rose DSP (retired): cut at 4″ x 2 3/4″
Silver Foil strip: 4″ x 1/4″
Flowers cut with the Dainty Details Dies. I used a small hole punch to punch silver foil flower centers.
The sentiment is from the retired Lasting Lily stamp set and is heat embossed in silver embossing powder. It’s punched with the Double Oval punch.

Two for Tuesday: Les Shoppe Gift Card Fun Fold & Bookmark

I have a fun project for Two for Tuesday today. I created a book binding fun fold (which is also a gift card holder) thank you card with a matching bookmark. I needed to send a thank you to a book loving friend who showed me some wonderful kindness recently and wanted to treat her to a few new books, so I included a gift card, as well. I had this card in mind when I ordered the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper. Despite not ordering the Let’s Go Shopping bundle, the DSP has a lot of fun images that can be cut to create many projects. I’m looking forward to using it all up!!

Let’s get to the details…

Measure & Cut

Basic White Thick card base: cut at 4 1/4″ x 11, score at 4 1/2″ and 5 1/2″ to create the book binding.
Balmy Blue card stock: 4 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
Basic White card stock: 4 1/4″ x 4″
Les Shoppe DSP: 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ (side panel) and 1/2″ x 4″ (bottom strip)
Balmy Blue card stock (inside): 4 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and 4″ x 2″ (inside pocket)

Assemble

Glue the 1″ scored panel to the inside of the card to create the “binding”
Glue the Balmy Blue strip and DSP strip to the 1″ panel.
Glue the Balmy Blue and Basic White panel to the card front.
Stamp the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set on the Basic White panel.
Add the strip of DSP from the Les Shoppes DSP collection to the bottom of white panel.
Cut the “stores” from the DSP collection and add to the card front.

The inside sentiment is also from the Charming Sentiments stamp set.
The inside pocket (which is optional) holds a gift card.

I took some liberty with the bookmark. I used a retired Label punch to create the bookmark. The books are cut from the Les Shoppes DSP also. I dove into my stash for the sentiments and the eyeglasses.

I just loved playing with this Designer Series Paper. I hope you enjoyed this fun card combination.
