Butterfly Kisses Hello – Tic Tac Toe Challenge #201

The Tic Tac Toe Challenge board is loaded with so many happy elements this week, thanks to Jeanne on Design Team O.  While it should have been a “challenge” it was actually a delight to create for this week’s challenge!  Take a look at the board and I think you’ll agree…

Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are getting excited to see the new annual catalog next week.  And while it is wonderful to see all the new and returning products, it also means letting go of some (a lot) of current favorites.   One of my favorites has been the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper.  This paper is so bright and cheerful and, in my opinion, has just about everything in it to create fun and happy cards…and that’s what I hope I accomplished today with this set.

Butterfly Kisses Hello Card Set - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

I chose the 3rd column down:  Butterfly, Patterned Paper, Floral

I had so much fun mixing and matching the patterns and coordinating card stock with the hand cut butterflies from the DSP.  The sentiment came from the Pansy Patch stamp set.

And here is a pretty parade of each card…

Each card has the same measurements, which are:

  • Basic White thick card base:  cut at 11″ x 4 1/4′, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Floral DSP pattern: cut at 5 1/2″ x 2″
  • Colored card stock: cut at 5 1/2″ x 1/4″
  • Small DSP strip: cut at 5 1/2″ x 1/2″
  • Sentiment strip: 5/8″ x 3 1/2″

Details

  • Glue the patterns and card stock to the left side of the card base.
  • Hand cut the butterflies from the DSP and adhere to the right side of the card with dimensionals, leaving a space for the sentiment.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and flag the end.  I used a small square punch to do this.
  • Adhere the sentiment strip with dimensionals and add a coordinating embellishment dot.  I used some retired ones from my stash.

Please leave a comment on which card is your favorite and I’ll be happy to send one to you if you email me your address at [email protected]

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you’ll pop over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and add your own card to the mix.  We would love to see you there!

Take care,

Rosanne

Perfectly Penciled Colored Birthday Card

Stampin Up Perfectly Penciled Colored Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Last week I posted a card HERE featuring this pattern from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper collection.  While making that card, I had some leftover papers that I didn’t want to just file away to never be used again.  So in an effort to make a different looking card, I colored the flowers using Stampin’ Blends.  My color choice was easy as Fresh Freesia seems to be my favorite color these days along with the fact that it’s days are numbered with the new In-Colors debuting soon.

Materials & Measurement

  • Fresh Freesia card base:  cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″, score at 5 1/2″
  • Basic Black card stock:  cut at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • DSP pattern:  cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic Black card stock strips: cut at 4″ x 1/8″ (cut 2)
  • Fresh Freesia embossed panel:  cut at 4″ x 1 1/4″

Details

  • Color the flowers in the DSP.  I used Stampin’ Blends.
  • Layer the Basic Black card stock and DSP onto the card base and glue
  • Emboss the Fresh Freesia panel using the crosshatch folder from the Basic 3D Embossing Folder set available in the Online Exclusives. Glue to the center of the card.
  • Add the thin Basic Black strips to the top and bottom of the embossed panel
  • Cut a Stitched Rectangle and stamp the sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set.  Glue to the embossed panel
  • Cut and color a floral image from the DSP.  Attach to the sentiment panel with dimensionals.
  • Add a few In-Color Jewels.

  • I combined two sentiments from the Peaceful Moments stamp set for the inside.
  • Add an embossed panel and strip of black cardstock, along with a cut and colored flower for embellishment.

I really like these black and white DSP patterns as it gives you the opportunity to color or leave as is for two completely different looks.

Thanks for checking in today.  Have a wonderful day.

Take care,

Rosanne

Trio of Teacups Thinking of You Fun Fold

Stampin Up Teacup Trio Thinking of You Card - Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

Good new week to you and Happy Spring!

I feel like I was really late to the party in purchasing the Cup of Tea bundle.  However, I’m trying to make up for lost time as I’ve just been enjoying it so much.  I’m also hoping that perhaps it will make the catalog cut and stay around a little longer.

Today’s card is a fun fold that I’ve made several times.  But I’ve always used it as a gift card holder.  This card is a Thinking of You card that holds a fittingly appropriate tea bag.

Materials & Measurements

  • Petal Pink card base:  cut at 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/4″ & 8 1/2″
  •  Basic White front panel: cut at 3″ x 4″
  • Hello, Irresistible DSP front panel: cut at 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″
  • Basic White inside pocket: cut at 4″ x 2″
  • DSP inside pocket: cut at 3 7/8″ x 1 7/8″
  • Basic White sentiment panel: cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • DSP on sentiment panel: cut at 4″ x 3/4″
  • Petal Pink strip on sentiment panel: 4″ x 1/8″

Details

  • Fold and burnish on the score lines, creating the card front and inside pocket.
  • Using Tear & Tape, secure the sides of the inside pocket.
  • Add the card stock and foliage pattern from the Hello, Irresistible 6 x 6 DSP to the front of the card.
  • Cut three solid teacups from the same DSP and three open teacups from Basic White card stock to create the teacups.  Add three more Basic White solid teacups to the back of each teacup.  This is what you’ll see when you open the card.
  • Add a small tea tag to center teacup.
  • Using dimensionals, line the teacups along the fold.
  • Stamp the sentiment, from the Country Bouquet stamp set to the card front.

Stampin Up Teacup Trio Thinking of You Card -Rosanne Mulhern Heartfelt Stamping

  • Add the card stock and DSP to the inside pocket, along with another die cut teacup and tag.
  • Stamp the sentiment and lemon slices, from the Cup of Tea stamp set.
  • Glue to the inside of the card and add the DSP & cardstock strips to the right side.

I included my favorite tea bag.  If you like lemon and haven’t tried this, you should consider it.  It’s like having a slice of lemon pound cake in a teacup.  It actually feels like you’re having dessert just drinking it…delicious!

It would take additional postage to send this card in the mail, but totally worth it to treat someone to an unexpected cup of tea!

As always, thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a beautiful first week of Spring!

Take care,

Rosanne

If it’s Thursday, it’s time for another Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  This week Vicky on Team X has a fun board filled with Springtime elements.

I’m still pretty enamored with the Irresistible Blooms bundle. This suite of products lends itself to so many ways to create beautiful cards and projects.  I’ve been sending a lot of “Just Because” cards lately and this is one of them.

  • They’re attached with a combination of glue and dimensionals.
  • Lastly, I added a few Loose Frosted Dots.

  • The inside sentiment is from the Beautifully Happy stamp set, which was a Sale-a-bration set.  It has really wonderful sentiments that I know I’ll be using over and over.
  • I matted it on a coordinating piece of DSP for a little different look.
  • The tiny leaves were cut from the DSP using a die from the Irresistible Blooms dies.

I hope you’ll head over to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge to see all the wonderful projects the Design Team came up with this week.  And I hope that you’ll join us this week…we’d love to see what you create.
