CAS Heartfelt Thinking of You

I still had some Valentine products on my desk, including this wonderful heart image and awesome embossing folder.  Both are from Spellbinders’ January 2022 monthly clubs.  I’ve been subscribed to the Large and Small Die of the Month but recently added the Clear Stamp and Die and then added the new Embossing Folder of the Month to my subscription.  Each month just seems to get better.  Today’s card features: One Love, One Heart stamp and die set along with the Sending Love embossing folder.

I cut the heart out before embossing the white panel.  I then glued this directly to the Flirty Flamingo card base.  After coloring and cutting the heart, I trimmed it close to the stamped outline and popped it in the heart cutout with dimensionals.  This allowed the card base color to show a bit.  The center flower on the heart is also popped up.

I’ve been having a great time and finding so much inspiration from challenges.  I’m playing along with the Addicted to CAS challenge today….

Thanks very much for stopping by today…I hope you have an enjoyable day!

Take care,

Stenciled Die Cut: Take Two

If you think you’re seeing the same card I posted earlier today, you’re not entirely wrong.  That card featured a stenciled background created from a die.  If you missed it, you can see it HERE.  This card features the actual stencil I used.  I purposely cut the die from thick white cardstock, so that I could use it on another card.  Ta-da, another card. I glued it to a shimmery white card base, added a sentiment from SU Forever Blossoms stamp set and a few colored rhinestones.  This was a quick and easy bonus card.

I’m playing with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #tttc148

I chose the third row across: Sentiment, Embellishment, Die Cut

Thanks for popping in again today!

Take care,

A Stenciled “Big Thanks”

Welcome to another cross country CASEing adventure.  Each month Karen Hallam in CA and I, here in PA take a turn at creating a project based on a theme, sketch or technique for the other to CASE.  This month Karen chose stenciling. While I had purchased a few stencils over the years, the technique actually intimidated me.  However, once I realized how easy it was and how beautiful the results can be, I was hooked (and purchased even more stencils)!

Let’s take a look at Karen’s fun and festive card.  You can read all the details HERE.

Now here’s what I came up with…

While this card is definitely stenciled, I did not use a traditional stencil.  I created my own stencil using a die from Birch Press.  This die is part of a 3 layering die set called Viola Plate Layer Set.  It consists of three large cover plate dies that are cut and can be layered together or just used individually.  I’ll be spending a lot more time exploring all the possibilities with these dies.

For today’s card, this is the die I used to create a stencil…

To create the stencil, I cut it out with thick white card stock.  I used Distress Oxide Inks in Salvaged Patina, Kitsch Flamingo and Spiced Marmalade to blend in the color.  The big, bold sentiment is cut from Simon Says Stamps: Big Thanks.  I cut the shadow die with a pink foil, which I also used to mat the stenciled layer onto.  This created just a subtle shine to the card.  Lastly, I added some SU colored rhinestones to some of the flower centers for a little more sparkle.

I’m so pleased with the way this card turned out and how well this stenciling technique worked.  I will be looking at making more stencils from dies.  Now I must give credit where credit is due as I got this technique from the Just Us Girls Weekly Challenge.  Thanks Girls for giving me something new and fun to create with!

Thanks for joining us on our cross country CASEing adventure!

Mini Boxwood Heart Celebration Card

In honor of Valentine’s Day today, I couldn’t resist one more heart card.  Today I created a generic celebration card using The Greetery’s Mini Boxwood Wreath stamp and die.  This is one of my favorite stamp set as I really like hearts but absolutely love wreaths and this set is the perfect combination of both.

The patterned paper is from Echo Park’s Spring Market 6 x 6 paper pad.  And the sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Sunflower stamp set.

The “card concept” came from The Card Concept 168 Challenge

and the layout from Sunday Stamps Challenge 276...

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope it’s the beginning of a wonderful week!

Take care,

Rosanne
