Classic Plaid Thanksgiving Card – #TTTC129

Power Poppy Fortunes of Fall Thanksgiving Card -Rosanne Mulhern

My card share today is a classic Thanksgiving card.  My inspiration was the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I chose the second row across:  Corn/Candy Corn, Orange, Plaid.

The focal point is the wonderful Indian corn image from Power Poppy.  After stamping and heat embossing the image, I colored it using Copic markers.  The plaid patterned paper is from the Falling Leaves 6 x 6 mat stack by DCWV.  I purchased this at JoAnn’s Fabrics.  I’m always on the lookout for pretty and fun paper.

The inside sentiment is from the Harvest Mouse stamp set from My Favorite Things.

Celebrate with Delicate Dahlias

I love big, bold and beautiful flowers.  And my card today features the big, bold and VERY beautiful Delicate Dahlias stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Stampin' Up! Delicate Dahlia Celebrate Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Although this is a two-step stamp set, I chose to stamp and color these flowers.  Before coloring, I stamped the flowers with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed them with black embossing powder.  This actually makes it much easier to color and blend within the lines.

Beautiful Flowers Birthday – Paper Players Challenge #556

Simon Says Stamps Beautiful Flowers Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

Today I’m playing along with the Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge.  Here’s the challenge board…

I chose the first column down:  feminine, birthday, florals

Recently I’ve been having such a good time reaching into my less used stamps and dies.  And I’ve been finding so many sets that make me wonder why I haven’t used them more often.  Simon Says Stamps Beautiful Flowers is one of those sets.  I love this pretty, large floral spray.

The background is stenciled using a stencil from Pink Fresh Studio with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink.  I stamped the large floral image with Memento black ink and colored it with Copic markers.  After coloring, I added clear Wink of Stella to the flowers for a little sparkle.  Then it was cut using the coordinating dies and adhered to the stenciled background with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!’s Celebrate Sunflowers.  It’s heat embossed with white embossing powder and fussy cut.  This is also adhered with dimensionals. Lastly, I added a few sequins for more sparkle.

I lightly stenciled the inside panel and stamped a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up!’s Happy Thoughts (retired) stamp set.

As always, thanks very much for stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne

The Greetery Pinwheel Party Birthday Card – TTTC128

The Greetery Pinwheel Party Birthday Card -Rosanne Mulhern

Once again, I’m having a great time playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge by partying with The Greetery’s Pinwheel Party Bundle.

Here’s the challenge board…

I chose the first column down:  Stencils, Any Color Ink, Birthday

The Greetery Pinwheel Party Birthday Card - Rosanne Mulhern

I had so much fun creating this card.  The Pinwheel Party bundle consists of stencils, stamps and dies.  For today’s card, I used the stencils and distress oxide inks to create the pinwheels.  The stencils come with masks which made it easy to create the fun and festive background.

The sentiment was created using the “let’s party” die.  I cut it three times in black card stock and layered it to create dimension. To give it a “POP”, I topped these layers with another cut from black glossy card stock.

Lastly, I added a few sequins for some more festive fun.

The inside sentiment is from a fun set, Paolo’s Wishes from Mama Elephant.  I love the fonts in this set.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Take care,

Rosanne
