“Classy” Teacher Thank You Card – TTTC127

Newton's Nook Classy Teachers Thank You Card -Rosanne Mulhern

Hello…I hope you’re having a good week.  I went back to school today so this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge was timed perfectly for me to create another school themed thank you card.  Here’s the challenge board…

I chose to follow the bottom row across:  Apple, Teacher, Books

I’m currently having a good time digging into my seldom used stamps. For today’s card, I used the Classy Teachers stamp set from Newton’s Nook.  This set is perfect to create note cards for teachers, librarians or anyone who works in a school.

To give the inside of the card a notebook look, I cut an index card.

Thanks very much for looking in today. Have a wonderful day!

“Sweet” Peach Birthday Card and Gift Box

Hello!  My summer is winding down very quickly and I’m getting ready to head back to school next week.  However, while the summer is still here, I’m still enjoying the Sweet as a Peach bundle.

Today, I created a sweet little birthday gift set to give to a co-worker when I see her next week.

This is a typical A2 card.  Each layer is cut 1/8″ shorter than the last.  All images are stamped from the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and cut with the Peach dies.  I layered these over a label cut from the Tasteful Labels dies.  The sentiment is also cut from a stitched banner die found in the Tasteful Labels.

I decorated the top of a Love You Always box much like the card.  Unfortunately, these boxes are retired so I’m glad I stocked up.

I added a sweet treat of peach rings…makes sense, right!?

While I’m looking forward to seeing friends and co-workers next week, I’ll surely be missing the easy, summer days.  Someone once said that August is the Sunday of the summer for school personnel.  So that means it’s about Sunday night right about now!

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a relaxing weekend.

Take care,

Rosanne

Back to School Thank You Notes

I’m playing along with the Tic Tac Toe challenge today.  My cards satisfy the first and second rows across as well as the third column down.

Mama Elephant Book Work Thank You Notes - Rosanne Mulhern

I’m currently working on sweet little thank you notes to give to students when we get back to school on 8/30.  Last school year was unprecedented in almost every way.  But despite the challenges, it turned out to be one of the most rewarding years for me.  I spent most of my time in Kindergarten and absolutely loved it.  On the last day of school, I received so many generous gifts from the students and their families.

I used the Mama Elephant Book Worm stamp set and coordinating dies for the images, coloring them with Copics. The cute penmanship patterned paper is from the Echo Park Back to School 6 x 6 pad.

As I didn’t have access to addresses over the summer, I plan on sending these home with the students when we get back to school.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Take care,

Paper Piecing with Pretty Pumpkins for CASEing Coast to Coast

Welcome back to another cross country stamping adventure with Karen Hallam in CA and myself here in PA.  Karen came up with our technique today: paper piecing. She also came up with a super fun card to go along with it.  Take a look…

Karen’s senior couple certainly have a very stylish flair here!  You can check out all the details on Karen’s blog

and here’s my CASE (copy and selectively edit) of Karen’s card.

I used a different image from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set and paper pieced it using a paisley design.  This paper came from my stash and I probably bought it at Hobby Lobby a long time ago.  I chose this pattern as I really like the “boho” vibe and pretty fall colors.

After stamping the pumpkin image on Very Vanilla card stock and cutting it out using the Detailed Pumpkins dies, I stamped it again on the patterned paper and fussy cut it to fit over the Very Vanilla image. The leaves were stamped with Old Olive card stock.  Before cutting them out, I embossed them with the Textured Textile 3D embossing folder for a little depth.  The stems were colored with a Soft Suede marker.

Before layering the pumpkins on a mat of Merry Merlot and Very Vanilla card stock which was embossed using the (retired) Tin Tile embossing folder, I wrapped a piece of Braided Burlap Trim (also retired) around both layers. Then glued it to the card base.

After gluing the pumpkins to the card, I added the sentiment which is from the   August 2019 Paper Pumpkin, Gift of Fall.  Lastly, I added a small linen thread bow.

I created another card using the same patterned paper in Cajun Craze….

The inside sentiment is also from the same Paper Pumpkin kit.  I embellished the inside and the envelope flap using the Tin Tile embossing folder.

As you can see, I really used a mixed bag of products on this card.  I came to the realization that these are the cards I have the most fun creating!

If you haven’t already done so, please “coast” over to Karen’s blog and check out her fun card.  I hope you enjoyed this month’s CASEing Coast to Coast as much as Karen and I enjoyed creating it…be sure to come back soon!

Have a wonderful Wednesday,

Rosanne
