CASEing Coast to Coast: FALLing into the Mini Catalog

Welcome back to CASEing Coast to Coast with Karen Hallam in CA and myself here in PA.  Each month Karen and I take turns CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) each other’s projects concentrating on a specific stamp set, card layout or theme.  Today’s projects will focus on NEW products featured in the July-December Mini Catalog that’s available on August 3rd.  Having had the opportunity to pre-order products from the catalog earlier this month, I’m pretty excited about it!

For my project today, I created a Thanksgiving card using the Pretty Pumpkins bundle.

Stampin Up Pretty Pumpkins Thanksgiving Card Idea -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I’ve spent an entire two days creating with this set and I’m still coming up with more ideas!  I’m especially loving the pumpkin featured on this card.

Materials & Measurements

  • Very Vanilla thick card stock:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Mossy Meadow card stock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Very Vanilla card stock:  6″ x 6″

Details

  • On the 6″ x 6″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock randomly stamp the pumpkin image in Versa Mark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  • Fill in the spaces between the pumpkins with a small stamp.  I used one from Lovely You stamp set and stamped it in Mossy Meadow ink.  This step is optional depending on how close together you stamped the pumpkins.
  • Using a sponge dauber and ink, sponge each of the pumpkins.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze inks.  Using a heat gun go over the entire stamped panel to avoid smearing ink.

  • Stamp the sentiment, also from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set, on the top right of the Mossy Meadow panel in Versa Mark and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  • Cut the stamped panel to 5 1/4″ x 2 1/2″  and glue to the bottom of the Mossy Meadow layer, leaving a 1/8″ margin around.  By stamping a 6″ x 6″ panel, you’re able to create two cards.
  • Add a coordinating ribbon around the top of the stamped layer and add a bow using mini glue dots.
  • Glue to the Very Vanilla card base.
  • Lastly, add a few sequins from the Artistry Blooms Sequins around the sentiment.

  • I created my cards to send at Thanksgiving and did not yet have any appropriate new sentiments, I chose these two sentiments from the retired Country Home stamp set, which I still love.

Since I stamped and embossed a piece of 6″ x 6″ Very Vanilla card stock, I was able to cut two panels to create both cards.

Stampin Up Pretty Pumpkins Thanksgiving Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup Sponging the pumpkins over the embossing was a fun technique and created such a pretty effect on this particular stamp.  Not to mention, it was quick and easy.

Plentiful Plants Thank You

Stampin Up Plentiful Plants Hanging Basket Thank You Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Happy Monday!  I love saying that in the summer.  It’s a different story during the school year, though!

Today I’m sharing a thank you card made with a new favorite bundle, Plentiful Plants.  I’m having a blast with these products.  The stamps and dies, along with the Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper are fantastic and can be used in infinite ways.

Materials & Measurements

  • Basic White card base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Pear Pizzazz card stock: 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ & 1/8″ x 4″ strip
  • Basic White card stock: 3 1/4″ x 4″
  • Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP: 2″ x 4″

Details

  • Glue Pear Pizzazz panel to the Basic White card base.
  • Emboss the Basic White panel using the Greenery embossing folder.  I like the added dimension it gives to an otherwise large blank area.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Cinnamon Cider ink to the embossed panel.
  • Glue it to the right side of the Pear Pizzazz panel, leaving 1/8″ margin around.
  • Glue the DSP to the left side of the Pear Pizzazz panel, aligning it with the embossed panel. The brick wall design seemed like a good choice.
  • Add the thin Pear Pizzazz strip to cover any gap or seam.
  • Stamp the flower pot and greenery from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and cut using the coordinating Perfect Plants dies.  Also cut the plant hanger.
  • Glue the hanger onto the flower pot and arrange the greenery using glue and dimensionals.
  • Adhere the hanging plant to the DSP panel with dimensionals.
  • I added a small piece of braided trim and tucked it behind the DSP using a mini glue dot.

The Bloom Where You’re Planted Designer Series Paper is one of the collections offered this month at a 15% discount.  Besides having very cool backgrounds, this paper also has a variety of plants that can be cut and used as images.  I actually cut a whole sheet of “plants” to use on future projects.  I also used the snipped images on this card…

“Lovely You” DIY DSP

Hello there!  Today’s project has been sitting on my craft desk half done for almost 6 months.  Sometimes I can get easily distracted by the latest and the greatest that I forget about older products that I still enjoy crafting with. If you enjoy a lot of stamping, this is the project for you.  The Lovely You stamp set was perfect as it had just the right size images.

LOVELY YOU CLING STAMP SET (ENGLISH)

The hardest part was deciding on the color combinations.  I’m sure I could have come up with a dozen more!  By stamping a full sheet of each color combination, I still have extra to create more cards.

Summer Fruit Z Fold Gift Card Holders – Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Wonderful Cards/Projects from the Garden” where our design team showcase projects from things found in a garden, such as flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even a garden scene. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Once you finish here, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I had such fun creating the cards for today’s blog hop.  The theme is so wonderful for this time of year and there are so many terrific stamp sets to choose from.  I chose a fruit theme for my project today by using the Sweet as a Peach and Sweet Strawberry bundles to create Upright Z Fold Gift Card holders.  Creating extra-special gift card holders just makes the gift that much more special.  It’s all about the presentation…right?

First up is the Sweet as a Peach….

Stampin Up Sweet as a Peach Z Fold Gift Card Holder - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

There’s so much to love about this bundle and coordinating You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper.  I especially like the fresh colors. Balmy Blue and Pale Papaya create such a fresh, soft palette.  The bushel basket was created using a piece of Paper Lattice and Crumb Cake card stock.

Here’s the card opened, displaying the gift card pocket and a cute little message.  I think the small sentiments in the Sweet as Peach stamp set are just darling.  I also tucked one in the basket of peaches.

There’s still more “pretty” on the inside with a sentiment from Sweet as a Peach stamp set and a bit of embellishing using a pattern from the You’re a Peach DSP along with a sweet little stamped flower.

Stampin Up Sweet Strawberry Z Fold Gift Card Holder -Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

I used the same layout to create a gift card holder using the Sweet Strawberry bundle.  This time I created a strawberry basket with the Paper Lattice and Crumb Cake card stock.

Even though Heartwarming Hugs is a Designer Series Paper that is marketed as a holiday collection, the designs also lend themselves to many more occasions.  Here I paired the dotted and checked patterns.  If you missed purchasing this paper last holiday season, no worries as it’s back again in the August-December Mini Catalog which goes live on August 3rd.

Stampin Up Sweet Strawberry Z Fold Gift Card Holder-Rosanne Mulhern stampinup I left the inside blank for a thank you note.  But created another simple embellishment with DSP and a stamped strawberry image.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team, because the Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 11th. Our theme will be “My Happiest Season” when our Design Team creates a project showcase projects inspired by their favorite season of the year. Until then, have fun in your craft space.
