Plentiful Plants Mini Slimline Thank You Card

Stampin Up Plentiful Plants Mini Slimline Thank You Card- Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  I did some (ok…a lot) of stamping over the weekend and finally started to really delve into some of the new sets in the Annual Catalog.  One set, which I was not initially that excited about, turns out to be one of my new favorites.  The Plentiful Plants bundle is a lot of fun and sparked so many ideas. I am a plant lover, both inside and outside, so I shouldn’t be surprised that I was inspired by this set.

For today’s card, I once again created a mini slimline….

Materials & Measurements

  • Basic White Thick card stock:  6″ x 7″, scored @ 3 1/2 on 7″ side
  • Gray Granite card stock:  5 7/8 x 3 3/8″
  • Bloom Where You are Planted DSP:  5 3 /4″ x 3 1/4″

Details

  • Glue DSP panel to the Gray Granite card stock.
  • Using a die from the Layering Circles dies, cut 3 circles through both panels.
  • Create a Gray Granite frame around each cut out circle.
  • Adhere this panel to the Basic White card base using dimensionals.
  • Stamp a variety of flower pots from the Plentiful Plants stamp set.  I stamped mine in Cinnamon Cider, Night of Navy and Merry Merlot ink.
  • Cut the flower pots using the Perfect Plants dies.  These could also be easily hand cut.
  • Using a dimensional, adhere each pot inside a circle.
  • Cut a variety of plants from the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP and add to the pots.  I cut a whole page of these plants while watching TV to have for more projects.
  • As a little extra touch, I added a few water droplets on the leaves using Nuvo Drops.  You could also get the same results from Clear Crystal Effects.
  • The sentiment is also from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and is stamped in black ink heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I hand cut it out and popped it with dimensionals.

  • I did something a bit different with the envelope by using a piece of DSP.  I really like this brick pattern and thought it would make an interesting envelope.

I’ve had a few questions about the envelopes I use for slimline cards.  If you’re interested in making your own slimline envelopes, please stop back tomorrow as I will be posting a tutorial and template for both a regular and mini slimline card.

Anniversary Shaker Card

Stampin Up Anniversary Shaker Card- Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Hello!  I wanted to share a pretty shaker card I created using the Golden Garden (although I used the silver side) Designer Specialty Acetate along with a pattern from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper.  Both of these products are retiring after today so I’m getting this card in just under the wire!

It’s been a while since I created a shaker card and my daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, James will be celebrating their 4th anniversary in early July. So I thought this would be a nice card to give them.

Stampin Up Anniversary Shaker Card - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Materials & Measurements

  • Petal Pink card base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Fine Art Floral DSP pattern:  3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Petal Pink card stock: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Golden Garden Acetate pattern: 5 1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White card stock for the sentiment

Details

  • Glue the DSP panel to the center of the card base.
  • Create a frame with the Petal Pink card stock.  I used a rectangle frame die from My Favorite Things but you could create one with the Stitched Rectangle dies.
  • Emboss the frame using the Parisian Flourish embossing folder.
  • Create the shaker window by gluing the acetate to the back of the frame.
  • Add Foam Adhesive strips around the frame.
  • Sprinkle sequins onto the center of the DSP panel.
  • Adhere the framed window being sure to line it up so it covers the DSP pattern.
  • SHAKE!

  • The sentiment, from the Forever Fern stamp set, is stamped in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
  • It’s cut using a stitched rectangle die from the Ornate Layers dies.

I was happy to finally get to use the Golden Garden Acetate on a card before it retires. It’s especially pretty over the sparkly sequins.

The January – June Mini Catalog retires today.  Some of the products from this catalog are even discounted.  Click HERE to see the list.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your week is going well.

A Mini Slimline Hello with Pierced Blooms Dies

Stampin Up Pierced Blooms Just Because Card Idea - Rosanne Mulhern stampinup

Happy Monday!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend.  I appreciate Summer weekends so much more now that things are returning to normal.  I’m not even complaining about the heatwave we’re having here in PA!

Today I’m sharing a set of mini slimline Thinking of You cards.  I’ve been sending more of this type of card lately just for no reason other than that I really enjoy making them and hope they’ll be a little unexpected surprise to brighten someone’s day. I’m also sending these to those who order from me this month instead of a traditional thank you.

I really enjoy creating sets using different colors.  Stampin’ Up!’s colors are so beautiful that I never have a problem coming up with pretty combinations.  It’s actually the opposite; after creating one set, I want to other colors.  Since for this set, I used soft pastel colors, I’m thinking a set in brighter bolder colors would look good also.  Perhaps I’ll be creating another set 😉 !  Do you have a favorite color in this set?
